Compatibility View

As more people are updating their browsers to IE8 and above they experience an odd effect with HTML code displaying in Work Orders. This is because the Microsoft default setting is to not have Compatibility Mode selected.

There are two effects from NOT having Compatibility on:

  1. The user creating the WO will get a plain text box NOT the RTF Smart text box. If they type with returns they will not hold. The text looks fine but all line breaks are lost.
  2. If they Cut & Paste they will get HTML background code.  If they don’t notice this and release the WO then anyone viewing a link to the WO will see the HTML regardless of the Browser they are using.
It is critical that ALL Users who run IE have Compatibility Mode on.

You’ll find the setting change option for Compatibility under:

Page > Compatibility Setting > place < calan.calancom.com > and in the box by adding each separately.  NOTE: the display box will only show calan.calancom.com. If your site masks you should also add your masked URL.

You can select the check box at the bottom of this screen by checking the Display all Web Sites in Compatibility view. However there are some other web sites, example QuickBooks, which will not work if this check box is selected.
