The Original Button names on the Print Bar Code screens were
done to reflect the early adopters’ printing choices.
For Example:
The naming does seem to imply that the output of that button
choice is somehow “hard wired” to print only that size label indicated and then only on a
Zebra Printer. NOT really the case.
The fact is that the output is just a single data set, landscape
format:
This format does print nicely on a very
small label, i.e. a 1”X 3.5” Zebra label. But the fact is it
will print larger (Not smaller or the Bar Code will fail) if you happen to want a landscape format larger. And by by the way, once you generate the PDF, you can use any printer or label maker you might prefer.
The same is true for all four Print Options. So we have
renamed all of the buttons to better reflect their purpose and flexibility. THE ACTUAL OUT PUT ITSELF HAS NOT CHANGED.
You
should feel free to try different combinations based on your need. We of course
recommend you print a test label if you are sizing up and especially down as there
are practical limits on the scanners' ability to discriminate the bar code
itself. However that is in part governed by the quality of your printer's
output and label choice so the exact limits are difficult to project.
