With the exception of a Task with a file attached for review, where the system providers a secure link to that file’s URL, the Task emails are intended as reminders and provide only a link to the Login screen for the site. The distinction is one of security protocols. The page that displays the file for review is an isolated page with no other menu service tabs or icons. Essentially the link will take you to a dead end screen and you cannot go anywhere from that screen. If we were to pass the same access to a User in an email link letting them know that they have a regular Task that user would have full access to the site based on their security permissions. However the link would not know if you provided your proper credentials (Login & Password). So we don’t allow this. We force you to confirm who you are.
If you are a User who is already in the system, using the link will ask you to login and of course you are already in the system and so will be told to close your Browser before you can access the site.
You may view this “reminder/prompt” as helpful or a pain. If the latter go to Administration > Change My Profile and deselect the Get Emails for Tasks check box. You can always turn it back on when you are out of the office or not active in the system on a regular basis, which was the original intent of the programming. You have control; just select the best option to fit your preference for the current circumstance.
