Several sites have expressed an interest in obtaining the ability to identify Assets by a pre-determined expiration date in the past. This requirement is most frequently identified with Pharmaceutical accounts where there are very specific rules governing the use of graphics based on their content before and/or after a specific date in time.
Some time ago we added the ability to enter a Tracking Date on an Asset’s Attribute screen and deployed a Report named Asset Usage by Tracking Date that ran against this value. Perhaps not a well selected name for the Report, as the report sat ideal till just recently when a site expressed renewed interest in this feature.
Dusting off the code we found the report was exactly the ticket needed to meet this request. So we made two quick updates to better prepare the report for more heavy use.
First we renamed the input field for the Tacking Date to Tracking End Date on the Attribute screen and added a Pop-up calendar to help avoid typos on date value entries.
Next we renamed the report itself to more accurately reflect the report’s intent. The report is located under Inventory > Inventory Reports > Locate by Tracking End Date.
With the Report’s Quick Select options you can look forward or backward in time as well as set a specific date range. Limit your search to a particular Asset Type(s). In addition we provide a listing of all of the Projects with dates where the Asset has be used.
Note: We recommend you make the date entered, as the Tracking End Date, literally the date the Asset should be retried to obtain the most flexibility in reporting.
