Attributes…tons of information that you can now mine.

Several sites are “Power Users” when it comes to Asset Attributes, snaps to them. Several don’t make use of the tool or very little use at best, mores the pity in that. As a footnote, the number one use of Attributes is feeding costs to a G2S order by Asset for budgeting purposes.

There are several very inventive ways however, beyond G2S, where Attributes feed reports, creating great opportunities to add efficiency and management tools to better support your customer’s requirements. However until now there was not an easy way to see all of the data entries you had made in a collective way across all Companies’ Assets. Or just as important find out where data was missing or placed in the wrong fields.

You’ll find a new Report < Asset Attribute Report > on your Services & Permissions screen under Inventory.  A good choice might be to create a Group and then shuffle in Users from any Role who might require access, as not everyone needs to work with Attributes.

Note: Currently the selection list if you want to filter to a specific Attribute(s) is the calan default list. This will not affect your reports, as the Report only returns Attributes for the Asset types you use on your site.
