New Filter available in My Tasks

Task Due Date Filter has been added to the Filter options Available in the MY Task dashboard of a User’s Home Page.

It has come to our attention that some sites have senior managers in the Gets All Categories distribution box of Work Orders. These Users receive every Task WO & Addendum issued on a site. While they may require access to every Task or just to see the Task activity as an informal metric for activity it is unlikely that they really need to read every Task. Being aware and having easy access at their discretion yes, open and close each and every one of those Tasks, not likely.

So the User ends up with a long list of Tasks. Since past due tasks go to the top of the list they have to scroll way down a list to see the new Task. And in the case of some users I do mean way down. As the dashboard is a dynamic report there is no way to add an ALL checkbox as many dynamic screens have.

The easiest course of action might be to determine if the User really does need all of those Tasks. Should it prove they don’t, remove the User with this issue from the Gets all WO category. Allowing that does not work you can now use Task Due Date Filter to hide Tasks older than, say -15 days, likely a WO or Task older than 2 weeks past a due date has no value (It can always be found in the Project). While Tasks will remain forever NOT complete, a reality they were NOT completed, they will hide themselves based on selected timeframe, keeping the relevant Tasks far closer to the top of the list based on the (- days). Adjust your (-day) to fit the individual User requirements and your sites activity level with regard to WO & Addendums.
