We believe we may have determined a possible connection related to some latency as well as other system functionality issues. We are continuing to research but until we can actually identify a specific error we can only take these kinds of preventative steps.
This particular action was preformed in the past and during that time we had no errors related to our current focus and did seem to enjoy a certain briskness in the systems response times.
Effective tomorrow we are going to run a Web Server restart between the hours of 6:30 – 7:00 AM EST each morning. The restart itself will take the server off-line for approximately seven to twelve minutes. Unfortunately this function can not currently be implemented as a job, to run overnight, and is best run with a human monitoring the process from start to finish. If a User attempts to log in during this time period they will receive a < 404 ERROR SERVER NOT FOUND > screen. It is our intention to have this operation completed by 7AM EST each morning to limit any such occurrences.
Many of you are aware that we are working to exit the Virtual machine servers that we worked so hard to obtain just 18 months ago. When we return to our own stand alone servers with the latest Microsoft Server software and other associated upgrades we will be able to automate this functionality should it still be required.
Note: We apologize in advance for any possible convenience and if this is directly impacting your use of the system please contact us immediately.
